Our 'hotel of the month' competition provides a way for accommodation providers who have achieved excellence in sustainability to be recognised for their work. Our July 2022 winner was Boardwalk Boutique Hotel in Aruba due to the efforts they make to support their local community. However, we were also extremely impressed with the work Coral Sea Imperial Sensatori has done in this area.
Located in Sharm el Sheikh, this property seeks to provide economic benefit to the area by purchasing more than 90% of the products they use from local suppliers and ensuring that most of the entertainment they offer on site is from local programmes.
They go to great efforts to promote local businesses to their guests using various methods. For example, local suppliers can rent retail space and plenty of information is provided to guests about how to experience the area outside the hotel, including details of local transport options.
Finally, they proactively support wider community improvement projects, such as organising litter clean-up days and donating to local charities.
