Are you committed to respecting, protecting and upholding human rights?  If not, are you willing to make this commitment publicly?

 

 

Are you committed to safeguarding vulnerable people, animals, wildlife and places? If not, are you willing to make this commitment publicly?

 

 

Have you taken steps to reduce the amount of energy your business uses? For example, using low energy lighting.

 

 

Have you taken steps to reduce the amount of water your business uses? For example, encouraging guests to reuse towels.

 

 

Have you taken steps to reduce the amount of waste your business produces? For example, reducing your use of single-use plastic items.

 

 

If your destination has recycling facilities, do you recycle as much as you can? If not, are you willing to commit to implementing a recycling programme?

 

 

Do you ensure that your solid waste and waste water does not pollute the environment?

 

 

Do you safely store, handle and dispose of hazardous substances such as chlorine, batteries and detergents?

 

 

Do you engage in any activities that support your local community such as buying local products or supporting local charities?

 

 

Do you try to procure sustainable items, such as buying Rain Forest Alliance coffee or FSC Certified paper products? If not, are you willing to commit to sustainable procurement whenever this is practical?
