Las Mesa redonda sobre derechos humanos en el turismo es una iniciativa internacional de varias partes interesadas que promociona los derechos humanos. Ofrece incentivos a aquellas empresas, organizaciones e instituciones que se comprometan a respetar los derechos humanos en el sector turístico según los Principios Rectores sobre Empresas y Derechos Humanos de la ONU. Travelife asiste regularmente a reuniones para hablar sobre los problemas relacionados con los derechos humanos, con especial énfasis en hallar soluciones prácticas que ayuden a nuestros miembros a acabar con la explotación de seres humanos en el sector de la hostelería.

Travelife colabora con la iniciativa International Trade Centres (ITC) SheTrades que trata de conectar a tres millones de mujeres empresarias con el mercado para el año 2021. SheTrades ofrece a las empresarias de todo el mundo una red y plataforma exclusivas para conectarse a los mercados. A través de la aplicación de SheTrades app, women entrepreneurs are able to share information about their companies, increase visibility, expand networks, connect and internationalize. SheTrades also helps corporations to include more women entrepreneurs in their supply chains. As a SheTrades partner, Travelife provides reduced rates on “Travelife Certification”, a sustainability standard certification scheme, for SheTrades entrepreneurs providing accommodation in the tourism sector in Ghana, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Indonesia.

Travel Without Plastic has an ambitious goal to prevent one billion items of plastic from entering waste streams or natural environments by 2020. They have combined their extensive experience of working in the travel industry and expertise in sustainable tourism to create the Let’s Reduce Single-Use Tool Kit specifically for accommodation and hospitality businesses. The Tool Kit helps accommodation providers identify where and how plastic is being used in their business, how much it is costing them and how they can replace or eliminate it, generating financial savings and improving the guest experience in the process.  Travelife recommends the Let’s Reduce Single-Use Toolkit to our Members as a means of reducing their consumption of plastics.

Travelife supports the Towards Carbon Neutral Tourism Project in Montenegro, implemented by Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism and UNDP Montenegro, in cooperation with National Tourism Organization, supports introduction of environmental certificates for hotels and apartments. Eco certified accommodations attract ecologically conscious guests who care for protection of environment. UNDP offers the interested hoteliers (1) advisory services to the managers and responsible staff in order to align with the listed certificate criteria; (2) co-financing of the certification process costs, covering auditing costs, while awarded accommodation facilities have to pay annual fees and (3) marketing and promotional support through local and national tourism promotional events, traditional and social media. In last 2 years, 20 accommodations received sustainability certificates, with 6 Travelife Gold Certified hotels. This is growing trend and Montenegro holds its place at the green tourism market map

WasteAid es una organización benéfica del Reino Unido que fue creada por expertos en gestión de residuos para compartir soluciones prácticas y de bajo coste con las comunidades de países de renta baja que carecen de servicios adecuados de recogida de basuras e instalaciones para su eliminación. Al combinar el espíritu emprendedor con soluciones innovadoras, WasteAid ayuda a las personas a generar ingresos a partir de los residuos, reduciendo así la cantidad que acaba en el medio ambiente. Travelife está trabajando con WasteAid en un conjunto de herramientas para hoteles en destinos con problemas de gestión de residuos y dona un 10 % de los ingresos de la tienda Travelife a esta organización.
